Palya or Poriyal prepared involves frying cooked Beans and Carrots. Beans and Carrot Palya or Sabji is light on calories and carries the goodness of vegetables it is made of. Goes well with Chapati or cooked Rice.
Beans and Carrot Sabji Ingredients:
- Beans – 15-20
- Carrot – 3 medium-sized
- Grated Coconut – 3 tsp
- Red Chilly Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves – 6-7
- Oil – 1 and 1/2 tsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Urad Dal / White Lenthils – 1/4 tsp
How To Make:
Cut the Carrot and Beans into small pieces.
Cook the Beans and Carrot in a pressure cooker or you can cook these vegetables in Microwave for about 6-8 min.
Heat oil in a pan; add mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds splutter, add Urad Dal and fry until it turns light brown. Then add Curry leaves and when it is fried lightly, add cooked Beans and Carrot and fry for 2 more min. Once vegetables are mixed properly in oil, add Salt, Red Chilly powder, Garam Masala and mix all well. Once all cooked ingredients are mixed properly, finish by adding grated Coconut.
This Palya/Poriyal or Sabji can be had with Chapathi or cooked Rice.
