Turkish Roti is a easy to prepare dish. I have used normal Chapati dough for the base. For stuffing I have used varieties of vegetables like Carrot, beans, Capsicum and Cabbage. Turkish Roti is very attractive especially for children who are not willing to have vegetables. Even elders love to have Turkish Roti with sauce. I have given step by step procedure how to prepare Turkish Roti. Prepare and enjoy eating Turkish Roti.

Stuffed Roti Ingredients:
- Carrot – 1
- Beans – 15
- Capsicum – 1/2 medium sized
- Cabbage – 1/4 small sized
- Cauliflower – 10 florets (Optional)
- Radish – 1 small sized (Optional)
- Spring Onions – 1/4 cup (Optional)
- Pepper Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Green Chilly – 2
- Soya Sauce – 2 tsp
- Ajinomoto or Tasting Salt or China Salt – 1 pinch (Optional)
- Oil – 3 tsp
- Salt
Chapati ingredients :
- Wheat Flour – 1 cup
- Besan Flour – 1 Tbsp
- Rice flour – 1 Tbsp
- Salt
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Ghee
How to Prepare:
1] In a vessel, have all the Flours-Wheat Flour, Besan and Rice Flour. Add Salt, Oil and mix the flours well. Then add water to the flour mixture to prepare Chapati Dough. Keep this dough aside for about half an hour.

2] Clean and cut into small pieces all the vegetables as seen in the image above. I have used Radish, Carrot, Beans, Capsicum and Cabbage but you can add more vegetables if you like.
3] In a frying pan, heat 3 tsp of Oil, add cut Beans and fry for 2-3 min in medium flame. Once the Beans is cooked half, add Carrot and cook for 2-3 min. Then add Radish, Capsicum, Cabbage and Spring Onion. Fry the vegetables and allow to cook for about 5 min. Do not add water. All the vegetables must be cooked in Oil. Note: All the vegetables must be half-cooked. Do not cook vegetables fully since they will turn too soft.
4] Now add Salt, Pepper powder, Ajinomoto and Soya Sauce to the pan. Fry for about 2 min and remove from the flame. Leave this Vegetable Sabji to be become cool.

5] Take the dough from Step 1, divide into small balls of suitable size and roll it out just like you would the Chapati dough. Place the Vegetable Sabji in the middle of the rolled out dough just as shown in the image. Fold all the four sides to have the vegetables sandwiched between the rolled out dough. Press the edges of this stuffed dough roll, otherwise while baking on the tava, Roti may open making the Vegetable Sabji to come out.

Heat tava, keep the stuffed Roti or Turkish Roti on pan, pour Ghee while cooking. Ensure that all the four sides of the stuffed Turkish Roti are cooked properly by pressing the stuffed Roti with a flat spoon or ladle while cooking on the tava.

Serve Hot with your favorite Tomato Sauce.
Children and adults alike love to have this Roti sandwich. When you have time and weary of having Chapati, you can prepare this Turkish or Stuffed Roti.
it looks so yummy , better than taco bell !!! but I am having one question… does it cook inside layer of tortilla [chapati] , when we fry on pan ???
Yes VG, Roti will get cooked well. But you have to heat in low flame. Bake the sides of the Roti with the help of 2 spoons pressing the Roti against the tava.
thanks hema, I’ll try!!
Hi Hema,
Hope you and your family had a good Diwali. Could you kindly tell me how much water should I put in to making the rotti dough please?
Yes we had a great Deepavali in my in-laws house in Chickmagalur. Enjoyed quite a bit by seeing places nearby and having great festival lunch and dinner.
For Turkish Roti, the amount of water required is the same as that for preparing the Chapati or Roti dough. It takes about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of water to prepare Roti/Chapati, but do not pour the water at once. Slowly add the water to the dough and mix well with hand until you can get a soft dough which is not watery/wet. Keep this dough for half an hour so that the Roti comes out soft. If you have still doubt let me know. Thanks for asking.
Wow….. Seems like you’ll had a good holiday 🙂 And i can imagine the food as well….. Thanks so much for the tip. Take care
Wow! I felt cooking is very easy and interesting:-)
